Alarms/Reminders

You can use the alarm clock button to schedule a reminder for the day.

Alarm Frequency

You can choose any of the following frequencies:

  • 'Once' (one-off) alarm,
  • Every day
  • Every weekday (Mon-Fri)
  • Every week (once a week)
  • Every two weeks
  • Every month (on this date of the month)
  • Every month (on this day of the month e.g if today is the third Monday of December, then every month on the third Monday)

Alarm alerts

When the alarm is triggered, Bouquin will reclaim focus on your screen, with a pop-up flashing a reminder based on the text you entered.

Webhooks

In the Settings screen, you can optionally set a Webhook URL and a secret for sending the reminder to your webhook endpoint. For example, this could be to a Node-RED flow which then triggers a notification to, say, your phone (Signal, etc).

The Webhook 'secret' is sent as the X-Bouquin-Secret header. You can use this to validate at your webhook receiver that the request came from Bouquin, so that you can reject unauthorised hits to your webhook.

The payload is a simple JSON body with the key reminder and the value being the reminder text.

Viewing or managing Reminders

Use the Reminders widget in the left sidebar to view 7 days of upcoming reminders.

You can click on the hamburger icon in that widget to manage old and upcoming reminders. From there, you can edit or delete reminders if you need to.

Alarms that have fired and are no longer due to fire again (e.g once-only reminders) will have an 'X' symbol in the 'Active' column. Active reminders will have a tick symbol.

You can also right-click on reminders from the widget in the sidebar to delete them, without needing to open the Manage Reminders dialog.
